Yá’át’ééh (Hello).
My name is Hosteen Tsoh (Bigman). I am Diné born and raised on the Navajo Nation. I am Bit’ahnii (Under His Cover People), born for the Hashk'ąą hadzohi (Yucca Fruit Strung Out People). My maternal grandfather’s clan is Tódich'ii'nii (Bitter Water People) and my paternal grandfather’s clan is Tł'ízí łání (Many Goats People). In this way, I am Diné.
I am currently based in Łichíí'ii, Arizona, my hometown. I feel deeply connected to this beautiful land through my lifelong love for the outdoors as well as generations of ancestors whose stories have been told and retold throughout time. I am very passionate about the photographic process. I love the sight of colorful sandstone rocks against the deep blue sky; the smell of sage or juniper, especially after a rain; the quiet, peaceful release of the desert; the challenge of finding the right composition; and the joy of photographing a successful find. My goal is to capture beautiful landscape photographs along with the feelings of love, warmth and reverence that I have for my homeland.
Ahxé’héé (Thank you),
Hosteen Tsoh
